Call for proposals

Paper presentations, workshops, Pecha Kucha and poster sessions are invited. Below you can find a brief clarification of the conference themes and suggested fields of research and practice.
We invite practitioners and researchers from the whole field of education. These suggestions are neither complete nor exclusive.

Proposals should be submitted as a long abstract (250 to 500 words), which will be assessed via peer-review process. You can use the proposal submission form as a guideline. Make sure all necessary information is included in your proposal.

Please submit your proposal as soon as possible and by 30th April 2021 at the latest. Notification of acceptance will be sent to you by 30th June 2021.
The conference takes place in the Faculty of Education at the University of Gothenburg, where the teacher education programs are based. Below you can find a brief clarification of the conference themes and suggested fields of research and practice.

Sub-themes
Resilience can be applied on different levels – the child, the school, the town, the municipality, the country or the world. The focus on the child can include health, relations, family, school, community etc.

  1. Learning and applying sustainability and resilience
    To enhance ecological literacy competencies and stimulate critical thinking, pedagogical experiences are created in specific contexts, such as preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, teacher education and more. We invite contributions from practitioners from the whole field of education.
  2. Developing thoughts on sustainability and resilience
    In different fields, scholars continue to think about philosophical and theoretical foundations for sustainability and education. Educational approaches to sustainability are a growing field. We invite contributions from disciplines such as education, sociology, philosophy, language, biology, art etc.

Presentation format
The conference language is in English.

Paper presentation (30 or 60 minutes)
A oral or multimodal presentation, followed by 10 minutes for questions, comments and discussion. Choose between:
• Paper presentation (20 minutes) and discussion (10 minutes)
• Presentation (45 minutes) and discussion (15 minutes)

Workshop (60 or 90 minutes)
A hands-on, interactive opportunity for professional development in a teaching and learning topic or a relevant method.

Pecha Kucha (7 minutes)
Presenters show 20 slides, 20 seconds each. A dynamic and concise way to make a powerful short presentation.

Poster sessions (mingle before dinner)
Poster sessions, stimulating networking and exchange of ideas.
